this is so interesting jezz bcs i had this conversation with myself just last night when i decided to step back and really ask myself whether i was being judgmental or discerning, especially bcs as a neurodivergent person i’m very good at catching the “off vibes.” but also coming into awareness about how i wish to approach a situation from there on in a way that doesn’t limit me but instead expands my heart, yknow? it’s hard! i appreciate you naming it. sending you love as usual <3
That's really well put! Esp about catching "off vibes" because the neurodivergence really does make for hyper attunement sometimes and I don't know exactly what I'm attuning to. Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you for the reminder that discernment can happen without judgement. I would love to see more of your poems that were left on the cutting room floor!
Oh and by the way!? This poem!? Fire. My last article I talked about the grossness of what the Drake & K.dot beef brought up about my proximity to some well known snakes. Hits the feelings on the head.
Oooof okay so glad you shared this, I’m now subscribed to your newsletter so I’m looking forward to reading what you write! And thank youuuuuuuu that truly means so much, poems are so vulnerable to share!
Omg. Yes. While writing the intro to my dissertation I realized that my poems had seen the internet before they’s seen the actually page first… it clicked why my anxiety was so bad 😂 been wearing my heart on my feed!
I do see all of your Instagram posts luckily, but somehow this article was in my spam even though I’m used to seeing it in my inbox proper. Trying to fix that, and might be something to note.
Either way, totally get the frustration that “let me know if you need anything” can foster. I’ve been sitting with this thought that our current state of societal hypermodernity (i.e., being chronically online, a majority young add/adhd population, postmodernism’s hyperpop cousin) is a rejection of human need, or flat performances that almost kind of resemble humanity. I will write more about it soon.
I’m hoping that practicing discernment makes it extremely clear who exactly you can lean on in this time. You’re incredibly talented, and the universe will reconcile this period your life in somehow. As someone who was also painfully college poor for 7 years straight, living off of like 10-12k a year, learning how to monetize sustainably for a few years became worth every penny.
If you want an Asian money/business/philosophy coach who you can actually talk to for a super affordable rate with awesome classmates who clear so many blocks together, I highly recommend Simone Grace Seoul’s class Writing with the Sword! Or just implementing her free materials. She’s an ADHD’r who cracked her own codes, a self-made millionaire, and I love learning from her.
Yes to the performance of humanity. And yes to discernment as a way of making it clear who I can lean on during these times of heighteneddddd sensitivity and deep need to deepen strategies. I do love Simone’s work so this is a great reminder to look into that offering, thanks so much for recommending!
Putting it that way, performance of humanity. Yea. That. For so long it had been about performance of gender, but now we don’t even remember how to people!!
Yay! Yea Simone has been on a fuck marketing, let’s just get to the root of our fears type-beat for a minute so that’s been powerful. She changes her business very publicly so you can blink and her whole platform has transformed.

Okay I will share more! Thanks for the encouragement ☺️ I still feel so vulnerable sharing my poetry even though I’ve been writing poems for 20 years!
